Dr. Winford L. Hendrix - Transitional Pastor

hendrix edit 2We are pleased to welcome Dr. Winford L. Hendrix as our transition pastor. Dr. Hendrix was born and reared near Pensacola, Florida and is a graduate of Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama; Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky; and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Union Theological Seminary (PCUSA) in Richmond, Virginia. He is married to the former Carol Heard of Atlanta, Georgia. They have three adult children and eight grandchildren who live with their families in Sharpsburg, GA; Virginia Beach, VA; and Houston, TX.

After serving as a senior staff pastor of churches in Indiana, Mississippi, Virginia, Tennessee and Florida, Dr. Hendrix in 1994 received specialized training in Intentional Interim Ministry through the Center for Congregational Health, a ministry of the School of Pastoral Care, Wake Forest University Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Since that time he has served twelve congregations as transition pastor: Arlington, VA; Hickory, NC (twice); First Baptist Church of the City of Washington D.C; Vienna, VA; New Bern, NC; Falls Church, VA; Louisville, KY; Fort Myers, FL; Galax, VA; Winston-Salem, NC; and Mobile, AL.

Over the years, Dr. Hendrix has served on the board of directors for a number of religious organizations, as well as hospital and civic organizations, and on two different occasions was chair of the board of directors for the Center for Congregational Health. He has written for various religious publications and has often traveled to the Holy Land, Europe, Africa, and other domestic and   international destinations. Carol and Winford enjoy meeting new people, spending time with family and friends, and exploring areas where they live and serve—including the local restaurants! Golf is at the top of Winford’s list of hobbies.

Dr. Daniel Nance - Associate Pastor, Youth and Congregational Care

nance editDaniel is a native of North Carolina, and was raised in Tennessee and Alabama. He holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Divinity from Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Daniel was called to serve Central Baptist in the fall of 2005 as the Minister of Youth and Congregational Care. He was ordained to the ministry at Central in January of 2006.

Daniel is married to Anna Tennyson Nance, who works with the State of Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. They have two daughters, Amelia Grace and Tennyson Paige.

Rev. Anne Cronic - Minister of Music

cronic editAnne serves as Minister of Music at Central Baptist. She also helps to coordinate the Women's Ministry. Anne has served full-time since 2001, although she has been a part of the music ministry at Central since 1985, alongside a thirteen-year teaching career.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Belmont University, a Masters in Musicology from Ohio State University and an Education Specialist degree from Georgia State University. Anne and her husband, Danny, have three children: Drew, Nathan, and Lydia. They have six grandchildren. As a family, they enjoy golf vacations to the mountains in the summer and football in the fall.

Rev. Katie Faison -  Minister to Children

faison editKatie grew up in Newnan, Georgia. She has been a member of Central Baptist all of her life. She holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from East Carolina University and is enrolled in the McAfee School of Theology of Mercer University. Katie began serving as the Minister to Children in October of 2013. 

Katie is married to John Faison, who is a biology teacher at Woodward Academy in College Park, GA. Together they have two children, Emma Grace and Allie.
