Our Staff
Dr. Joel Richardson - Senior Pastor
Dr. Joel Richardson is Central Baptist's twelfth pastor, coming to Central on October 1, 1984. Dr. Richardson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1970. He received his Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry degrees in 1973 and 1982 respectively from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For his third year of seminary,Dr. Richardson was accepted as one of five American students for study at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Ruschlikon, Switzerland.
Dr. Richardson has been active in community affairs during his time in Newnan. He is a member of of the Newnan Rotary Club, serving as president in 1990-1991. Dr. Richardson has served on the executive committee of the American Heart Association. He has also served two terms on the executive committee of the local United Way. In 1994 Dr. Richardson was one of four local citizens who helped establish the Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity affiliate. He currently serves on the boards of Good Samaritan House, Welcome House and Angel House.
Dr. Richardson is married to Ingrid, a teacher of gifted students in the Coweta County School System. They have two children.
Rev. Sam Henderson - Sr. Associate Pastor
Sam is married to Debbie Harris Henderson and they are the parents of three children and three grandchildren, with one on the way. Sam is a native of Tennessee and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and Master of Divinity degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has served churches in Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia.
Sam joined our staff in the fall of 2001 and serves Central as Senior Associate Pastor of Administration, Education and Senior Adults.
Rev. Anne Cronic - Minister of Music and Children
Anne serves as Minister of Music and Children at Central Baptist. She also helps to coordinate the Women's Ministry. Anne has served full-time since 2001, although she has been a part of the music ministry at Central since 1985, alongside a thirteen-year teaching career. Anne holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Belmont University, a Masters in Musicology from Ohio State University and an Education Specialist degree from Georgia State University. Anne and her husband, Danny, have three children: Drew, Nathan, and Lydia. They have four grandchildren: Nathan, Jr., Bram, Noah, and Eli. As a family, they enjoy golf vacations to the mountains in the summer and football in the fall.
Rev. Daniel Nance - Minister of Youth and Congregational Care
Daniel is a native of North Carolina, and was raised in Tennessee and Alabama. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts & Sciences degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and a Master of Divinity from Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Daniel was called to serve Central Baptist in the fall of 2005 as the Minister of Youth and Congregational Care. He was Ordained to the ministry at Central in January of 2006.
Daniel is married to Anna Tennyson Nance, who works with the State of Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.
